This semester has gone pretty well for me and my writing. First of all, I learned that I can be a much better learner if I pay attention better and concentrate. I used to always get myself distracted very easily and therefore made myself less capable of absorbing information in. From concentrating better in class, I was able to learn more information a lot better and quicker then I previously would have. So from now on I will work on concentrating better.

I would say the most recent writing, the commentary is the document that I applied a new type of writing complex to. I never have used blogger, or photo bucket or really any online program to present my writing. At first I did have some trouble figuring out blogger and photo bucket. After using both of these online programs, I would say that it was a lot easier and less complicated then I first had thought. If given the opportunity I will definitely try using the online programs to do any type of project instead of wasting paper.

The document that best shows my learning would probably have to be the play list profile. While we worked on that project, I greatly learned an broadened my knowledge of citing sources properly within a paper, as well as properly setting them up in a works cited. I learned all this from the book and information that was presented in class each day before we turned in the play list profile. I also really enjoyed the project mainly because we got to choose our topics so it made it easy to write about.

The main piece of writing that I am choosing to rewrite is my rhetorical analysis. I feel I may have rushed myself when first writing it, and did not pay enough attention to the paper guidelines to write a better paper. I have not started revising it yet, I will start revising it next week during dead week. The main thing that I must revise is to take out some of the citations that I put in it. I put in too many citations, and did not write enough of my paper in my own words and view. I also had some grammatical errors that I can fix as well. If I can fix both of these properly, and change a few of my mistakes, I should be able to turn the rhetorical analysis into a better piece.

There was a decent amount of change between each of the products. For each paper the audience changed, as in each paper, the topic was different. And the genre also changes for each paper as they are all different styles of writings. The organization change between each of the writings as they were all different styles and each one was organized and written differently. Also another difference between all of the papers was the point of view that each one had to be written in. The first few had to be written all in one point of view, and not changing at all. While in the commentary we were given the option to switch back and forth between any viewpoint we wanted as long as we stayed on topic and got our point for the paper across. So I got to experiment and write in different points of view.

I will choose the play list profile as my main source paper. It is the main paper that used sources the most for information. All the other papers and projects we did sparingly used sources and citations in them. My play list profile dealt with halo, and the main character, the master chief. All of my sources came from either the 3 video games, or from the four books that have been written about the halo games. I tried searching for a quality online source, but everywhere I looked, I came up empty. Anything that I found online dealt with anything else then what I had wanted and needed for the play list profile. Most of the information that I used was derived from the books as they provided me with the most in depth information to connect the adventure of halo to certain songs. This information helped explain the importance and the leadership that the master chief provides throughout the halo series.

I set three goals at the beginning of this semester. The first of these goals was to be able to cite sources better and more properly within a paper. I feel that I was able to achieve this as I have improved myself in that category. My second goal was to not make as many grammatical errors within my papers. Again I feel that I have improved in that category and have eliminated my mistakes in my papers. My third and final goal was to improve myself fully as a writer in all areas. There were some areas that I did not need much improvement in, and I improved myself in the few areas that I needed to, and so I feel that I truly have improved myself as a writer. This has been a very enjoyable semester, and I plan on continuing to improve my writing skills in the future.
